Stellantis UK has been proudly acknowledged with a Silver Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for services supporting the Armed Forces. Celebrated at the Regional Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards Presentation at the National Memorial Arboretum, the initiative is dedicated towards organisations that pledge, demonstrate and advocate support to defence and the armed forces community.
The award follows Stellantis UK signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2021, pledging further support and dedication towards those who have served the country. A member of Mission Automotive, the Armed Forces Engagement initiative delivered by Mission Motorsport, The Forces’ Motorsport Charity in partnership with The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales, The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and supported by the Ministry of Defence, Stellantis received the Bronze award accreditation in the same year.
Since signing the Covenant last year, Stellantis UK has launched a series of initiatives and services directed towards supporting the armed forces community such as free training for service leavers, veterans and family members from the Stellantis Performance Training Academy.
Stellantis UK has also dedicated time to welcoming servicemen and women into the company, with representatives attending career fairs, a new employee HR policy dedicated to Reserve Employees, and launching a Stellantis Armed Forces Network to support veterans and service leavers with their transition into civilian life.
Elsewhere, Stellantis UK continues to donate technical equipment to Mission Motorsport, the Forces’ Motorsport Charity that aids the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations with opportunities through motorsport and the automotive industry.
Lindsey Thompson, HR Director, Stellantis UK, said: “I am incredibly proud of everyone at Stellantis UK involved in supporting military personnel, veterans and the Armed Forces. Receiving the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme’s Silver Award is a great honour and testament to the hard work that goes into our close cooperation with the Armed Forces community.”
